Mathieu Fiore, MD, PhD is Hospital Practitioner in the Hematology Laboratory at the University Hospital of Bordeaux. He works in the field of platelet disorders with a focus on inherited disorders such as Hermansky-Pudlak Syndrome. Presently, his lab is working to improve genetic diagnoses by identifying new genes through exome and candidate gene approaches. Over the past fifteen years, he has played a key role in establishing the search for point mutations and gene rearrangements to identify disease in more than 60 different genes. Dr. Fiore has also played a pivotal role in the organization of French Reference Centers for Platelet Disorders. He has co-authored several publications involving Hermansky-Pudlak syndrome and participated in the first and third EDA (European Days of Albinism) Conferences. Mathieu received his MD in Paris, followed by a specialization in Medical Biology and a PhD in Bordeaux in the laboratory of Dr. Alan Nurden.
Dr. Fiore was a member of the Scientific Committee of ISCA 2022.
